Naomi Campbell leaves hospital — in a helicopter

British supermodel Naomi Campbell has left the Sirio-Libanes Hospital hospital in Brazil where she had a cyst removed in an emergency operation -- in a helicopter to escape the media circus that had gathered outside, according to local reports.

The helicopter airlifted Campbell, 37, from the Sao Paulo hospital to an undisclosed location.

The hospital issued a short statement saying the model had "recovered well" from surgery on Monday to remove the cyst and was healthy enough to leave.

"I can guarantee it is not a case of cancer because a pathologist followed the operation and conducted all the relevant exams," said gynecologist Jose Aristodemo Pinotti, adding, "any possibility of malignity has been removed. I believe she will be completely cured."

The model -- rumored to be dating Brazilian millionaire Marcus Elias -- who was constantly by her side in hospital, had reportedly been uncomfortable with the intense media attention focused on her during her convalescence, with hospital staff saying she had been incredibly rude and ordered the telephone in her room cut off to protect her privacy.

Campbell had arrived at the hospital by helicopter on Sunday night, after flying in from London. The operation took place Monday night.

It is unclear where the cyst was located, but doctors have confirmed a laparoscopy took place - which is used for procedures in the stomach and pelvis.

Britney Spears was almost evicted from her Malibu home - because she hadn't paid the rent.

The landlord for the spacious mansion was furious that the pop wreck was more than two weeks late paying her $35,000 rent.

So he sent the official lessee for the Toxic Singer - the Love Shack trust - a letter on February 14 demanding that she pay up or movie out.

In addition to the outstanding rent amount of $35,000, a $2,100 late charged kicked in, which was also not paid.

The documents stated that Love Shack must either pay up or "surrender and deliver up possession of said Premises"

The last line in the documents also cited Section 594 of the Penal Code of California: "Every person who maliciously injures or destroys any real or personal property not his ownis guilty of vandalism."

Sources insist that it was Britney's financial team and not her dad Jamie, who has been named conservator over her estate including her finaincial affair, who screwed up.

And the Love Shack is now current on all rent and late fees.

Jennifer Lopez spends $600k on bodyguards for her babies

New mom Jennifer Lopez is so worried that her baby twins might be kidnapped -- she is shelling out a whopping $600,000 hiring a team bodyguards to watch over them 24/7.

According to sources close to the Latino singer, Lopez -- with the full support of husband Marc Anthony -- beefed up her home security by hiring SIX bodyguards -- at annual cost of $600k -- two for each eight-hour shift around the clock.

Lopez has also reportedly installed closed-circuit cameras in every room in hers and Anthony's various homes.

"She's paranoid about a possible kidnapping," the source said.

Chicago Sun Times columnist Bill Zwecker writes: "Lopez also increasingly has become quite the 'germaphobe.'

"Dispensers containing a hygienic cleanser have been placed at the entrance to the babies' nursery and elsewhere around the house.

"People coming close to the children have been instructed to use those lotions every time they enter the kids' rooms."

Lopez, 38, has also been bulking buying surgical masks -- to be worn by those coming in contact with the newborns.

Dinner Impossible chef fired by the Food Network

The tough-talking British chef who cooked up a story about designing Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding cake has been fired from his US TV show.

After it was discovered that Dinner Impossible star Irvine lied about his credentials -- including having designed Diana's wedding cake -- Food Network bosses investigated the situation.

And now they have revealed they have given Irvine the chop and have not renewed his contract.

A statement from Food Network said: "We have not renewed Robert's contract for future seasons and will be looking for a replacement host."

Irvine has apologized for his actions, saying: "I was wrong to exaggerate in statements related to my experiences regarding the Royal Family."

Irvine pretends to be a slick super-spy in the opening titles to hit series 'Dinner: Impossible', which promise viewers: "What you are about to seeis real."

A voiceover introduces his cooking missions by saying: "Robert has tackled some of the toughest culinary challenges in the world - but can he conquer this one?"

In one recent episode that aired in the US, he showed off his six-pack while facing the task of cooking more than 20 native Hawaiian dishes in eight hours. But he was soon under investigation by TV network bosses over his outlandish bragging.

He claimed he was a knight who owns a castle in Scotland, had cooked for presidents and royalty and was pals with Prince Charles.

But he finally came clean to a US newspaper that his involvement in the Royal wedding cake was that he attended the school where it was made and that he picked fruit for it.

Irvine claims to have worked on the cake in his book 'Mission: Cook!'.

And he previously told the Toronto Sun newspaper: "It was an English fruitcake that weighed over 360 pounds.

"I worked on these elaborate side panels, which told the history of the royal Windsor and Spencer families - in icing!"

But he then told the St Petersburg Times: "I was at the school when that was happening. They made the cake at the school where I was."

Asked if he helped make it, he said: "Picking fruit and things like that."

Irvine also confessed he made up a story about being a knight to impress wealthy Americans in St Petersburg, Florida.

He told the St Petersburg Times: "When I first came down there and I met people down there with all this money, it was like trying to keep up with the Joneses.

"I was sitting in a bar one night and that came out. It was stupid."

A Buckingham Palace spokesman confirmed: "He is not a KCVO Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order and he wasn't given a castle by the queen of England."

Irvine had been planning to open two swanky restaurants in St Petersburg but they are still not finished three months past the planned opening. He also allegedly owes thousands to his website consultant and a St Petersburg socialite claims he owes her $100,000.

A spokesman for Food Network, which airs Irvine's show, said: "It's unfortunate if Robert embellished the extent of his culinary experiences."

Jeff Conway has revealed he kicked his drug habit by practicing the controversial religion of Scientology.

The former 'Taxi' star, who recently starred in VH1's Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, revealed: "I’ve been doing Scientology…my doctor was like, Holy cow, he says whatever you’ve been doing keep doing it because it’s really working."

Conway also revealed that his former 'Grease' co-star John Travolta introduced him to the religion - that also counts Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes as members.  "John and I stayed friends but he couldn’t watch me going down the tubes…he gave me a whole library of Scientology books and he’s given me an auditor who comes almost every day."

Conaway also revealed he can’t wait to get back in front of the camera. "I’m going to be strong and healthy and totally together," he tells Inside Edition in an interview to air Monday, March 3rd. "I’ve got to get ready for my Academy Award.”

Amy Winehouse acquitted

Troubled signer Amy Winehouse will not be facing charges in connection with an alleged conspiracy to pervert the course of justice involving her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, Scotland Yard has ruled.

The 'Rehab' singer, 24, was arrested "by appointment"in December and voluntarily attended a police station.

Amy's rep said today: "Amy is pleased to be discounted from the investigation and thanks the police for their professionalism in their dealings with her."

Fielder-Civil is currently locked up in London's Pentonville prison -- after assaulting a barman, and then allegedly bribing him not to press charges. He appeared at a London court earlier today where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "A 24-year-old woman arrested by appointment at an east London police station on December 18 will not be required to answer bail following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service. No further action will be taken."

Amy, who's currently in France for Paris Fashion Week -- where she is being paid $1m by Louis Vuitton to appear at one of their shows  -- failed to turn up to court to see hubby Blake in the dock.

Chat show Titan Ellen DeGenres is getting kudos from her pet pooches -- after introducing her very own brand of pet food.

"I should have done it a long time ago," Ellen tells Parade magazine about her new feline venture. "I was waiting for the right thing."

The new pet food remains unnamed -- but Ellen, 50, plans to take a leaf out of  salad dressing king Paul Newman's book. "We’re tentatively calling it Ellen's Own," she adds. "Sort of like Paul Newman's Own.

"We're still working on the name."

DeGenres' pet food can be eaten by humans -- but Ellen herself is yet to indulge. "I have not tasted it yet," she said "A lot of my people have. I have my people taste it first. I have people tasters. No, my life's going pretty good. I don't need to eat it yet.

The pet food is completely natural -- so it's suitable for even the most pampered pets. "People love their animals so much so that they put little clothes on them and necklaces and booties and things like that," said Ellen. "And if you love your animal, then you should feed them something that's not dangerous for them.

"There's a lot of poisonous stuff that they’re putting in a lot of that food, those by-products."

Halle Berry to release her own perfume

Halle Berry is in talks to release her own perfume.

The Oscar-winning star will also appear in advertisements for the as-yet unnamed fragrances.

Steve Mormoris, a senior vice president at beauty company, Coty, confirmed the news today.

He said: "Halle is an iconic actress and symbolizes beauty to many generations.

"She adds another dimension to the celebrity-fragrance market. Her fragrances will allow her to present another facet of her personality to her fans."

The first Halle perfumes are expected to launch globally in 2009 in US department stores, including JC Penney.

Other celebrities who have launched their own fragrances include Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears.

Monster's Ball star Berry, 41, is expected to give birth to her first child within weeks.

She has been dating French-Canadian model Gabriel Aubry since November 2005.

Prince Harry calls ‘ecstatic’ girlfriend before leaving Afghanistan

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony inundated with baby gifts

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have been inundated with baby gifts since arriving home with their newborn twins, a source has revealed.

The new parents reportedly took the babies back to their Long Island home Monday -  and have regularly been receiving multiple deliveries of gifts.

"The twins already got a ton of embroidered pillows with their names on them," says the source -- Anthony and Lopez, however, have not released the names of their son and daughter, who were born Feb 22 -- it has been widely reported, though that their names are Max and Emme.

A spokesperson for Baby K'tan in Fort Lauderdale confirms to American magazine People that pink and blue embroidery were used respectively on the 100 percent cotton carriers and that they "were purchased from us as gifts for both J.Lo and Marc."

In addition, members of the Latino singer's family were spotted shopping at Baby Gap in Americana Manhasset mall last week, confirms a sales rep from the store.

Michael Jackson missed payments of $153,910 on house used by his family

Singer Michael Jackson has repeatedly failed to pay the mortgage on a Los Angeles house used by his family, public documents show.

The news comes after it was revealed that the chart star could lose his Neverland ranch because of arrears of $25 million.

Documents filed with the Los Angeles country recorder relate to a property in Encino, California, that has been used by the singer's family for years.

They show the singer has missed payments of $153,910.

The missed payments relate to a $4 million loan from mortgage lender Indymac Bancorp, based in Pasadena, California. Documents show Jackson previously faced possible default over missed payments on the property due in April and August of last year.

According to reports, the 49-year-old is now seeking a new loan that would save Neverland from being sold at auction next month.

If he does not pay the $25 million arrears that he owes on the sprawling California property, it will go to auction on 19 March.

William Spears, the outspoken brother of dad Jamie Spears, who lives in a camper van, says Jamie was shocked when he found out his now ex-wife Lynne was pregnant as he had a vasectomy after she gave birth to Britney, their second child.

He said: "Jamie got awfully mad. He said it couldn't be his."

William claims that Jamie demanded a DNA test, that eventually proved he was the baby's biological father.

He added: "That's why they named her Jamie Lynn, to kind of make the point that she was from both of them."

Meanwhile, pop wreck Britney, 26, had another visit from her young sons Sean Preston and Jayden James yesterday -- her third in five days.

She spent spent three hours with the boys, after they were dropped off at her Beverly Hills mansion.

Britney's legal team are also reportedly trying to get visitation rights up to three times a week.

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse -- who bagged the Worst Dressed gong at last night's NME Awards -- is reportedly set to receive $1m for a one-off performance in France.

The 'Rehab' singer, 24, is being given the huge sum by luxury French fashion house Louis Vuitton to appear at their show during Paris Fashion Week -- and is being flown to France by private jet tonight.

A source said: "Louis Vuitton are huge fans of Amy and think she'll be the perfect performer during their show, which is one of the most anticipated throughout the week. It's a lot of money but they know she'll be worth it."

Despite Amy's somewhat unique style, she has been widely praised by the fashion industry. In December last year, famed fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld made the singer his 'muse' -- and even compared the soul diva to the 60s French actress Brigitte Bardot.

"[Amy] is a beautiful, gifted artist. And I very much like her hairdo. I took it as an inspiration. Because, in fact, it was also Brigitte Bardot’s hairdo in the late Fifties and Sixties. "I would love to do it," Jackson said of her brothers.. "I get my brothers on the phone all the time. I'm the biggest fan of the the Jackson Five.

"I have conference calls all the time pushing them to do a huge tour. I tell them if they did, I would love to open for them."

Janet said she has also been pushing Michael to get back on the stage.

"They would love to, but one of them is on the fence," she said. "You have to respect that. Michael's worked very hard at his solo career. I don't know. Maybe he'll come around.

Janet was on the Larry King show to promote her new album 'Discipline.'

Her album will have to compete with the 25th anniversary edition of Jacko's 'Thriller' album but Janet said she didn't mind as she's always been a huge fan.

New mom Nicole Richie has had her first job offer since giving birth last month -- the lead role of Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago, it has been revealed.

The former 'Simple Life' star, 26, who welcomed her first daughter, Harlow, with fiance Joel Madden on January 12, is, however, undecided.

"She's definitely interested and weighing it out with the timing of the baby," a Richie pal tells American magazine Us Weekly in its latest issue. "It is in the super early stages of discussions and no decision has been made yet."

"It would give her a reason to really show her talent and to stay in the new place in NY Joel just got," the source says. "It also shows people are really excited about Nicole right now."

Whatever Richie's decision, 2008 will be big for the former reality TV star. "She is also weighing some other amazing offers but 2008 is going to be really exciting for her," the source says. "She just working it all out and keeping Harlow in mind with everything she does, of course!"

Charlie Sheen urges viewers to boycott Denise’s reality show

Charlie Sheen is urging television viewers to tune out of his ex-wife, Denise Richards' upcoming E! reality series -- after failing to prevent her from including their two daughters in the show.

"I think we should all just boycott the damn thing!" Sheen, 42, said Wednesday.

Last month, a judge gave Richards, 37, permission to include her and Charlie's daughters Sam, 3, and 2-year-old Lola in the show - which is due to air this summer.

But the legal ruling did nothing to dampen Sheen's opposition to the project. "You don't go to court and make stands to prevent that if you don't firmly believe in it," he told People. "The world is upside down sometimes."

The show, which remains untitled, is being produced by Ryan Seacrest's company.

Prince Harry leaving Afghanistan

Prince Harry is already on a plane out of Afghanistan, a source has said.

"He has left the base and is en route to another location," the source said.

The 23-year-old, a second lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry, and third in line to the throne, has spent the last 10 weeks in the lawless Helmand province of the war-torn country.

"We will not comment on the whereabouts of Prince Harry," a Ministry of Defense spokesperson said.

Defense Secretary Des Browne said in a statement, "I am delighted that Prince Harry has had the opportunity to serve on operations in Afghanistan with his Battlegroup.

"In common with all the other British soldiers in Afghanistan he has done so with courage and distinction. We can be proud of him and all his fellow soldiers - we owe them all a great deal.

"The British media have shown great restraint in not reporting his deployment and I would like to thank them for doing so.

"It is however a great pity that the news has now been broken by media overseas."

There was a worldwide embargo on Harry's deployment -- but the news was widely reported after an item on the Drudge Report.

Britney Spears' fashion demands get stranger and stranger.

The pop wreck stunned a boutique's staff by giving them just hours to make her a version of another top designer's frock.

Spears reportedly walked into the Betsey Johnson store in Los Angeles armed with a white Dolce & Gabbana dress she wanted copied.

Bemused staffers told Spears they didn't have a dressmaker on call, and that the frock wasn't even from their line, the New York Daily News reports.

"The only thing she wanted to buy in the store was a yellow wig on a mannequin in the window," an insider told the News.

"The manager eventually agreed to offer it to her for $100."

Pregnant Nicole Kidman has revealed she has everything she wants in life - except big boobs.

The 'Stepford Wives' actress, who's married to country music star Keith Urban - with whom she's expecting her first child with, revealed: "I’m so happy. I can’t ask for anything more except big boobs. I’ve wanted Marilyn Monroe curves all my life."

Meanwhile, Kidman's rep was forced to deny reports the 40-year-old actress was drinking white wine at Sunday's Academy Awards - branding the gossip columnist, Cindy Adams - who ran the report, an 'idiot'.

New York Post columnist Adams ran this earlier on in the week: "Boozing backstage during the Oscarcast is a no-no. But if you're pregnant Nicole Kidman it's a yes- yes. She wanted white wine. She got it."

Which lead to this response from her rep, Catherine Olim of PMK:

"Nicole Kidman most certainly did NOT drink white wine or any other alcoholic beverage backstage.

"She had water and lemon zinger tea. That’s it.

"I know, I was there with her I cannot remember that last time that Cindy Adams got anything right. She’s an idiot, and you can quote me."

Kidman announced her pregnancy last month.

Angelina Jolie reports on her Iraq trip in the Washington Post

Angelina Jolie has reported on her recent Iraq trip in one of America's most influential newspapers.

The Hollywood star traveled to Iraq earlier this month in her role as a UNHCR goodwill ambassador.

Now she has written an in-depth article on the trip for the respected Washington Post newspaper.

"During my trip I also met with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, who has announced the creation of a new committee to oversee issues related to internally displaced people, and a pledge of $40 million to support the effort.

"My visit left me even more deeply convinced that we not only have a moral obligation to help displaced Iraqi families, but also a serious, long-term, national security interest in ending this crisis.

"Today's humanitarian crisis in Iraq - and the potential consequences for our national security - are great.

" Can the United States afford to gamble that 4 million or more poor and displaced people, in the heart of Middle East, won't explode in violent desperation, sending the whole region into further disorder?"

Hulk Hogan cheats on wife with daughter’s friend

Hulk Hogan has torn his family apart -- after having an affair with one of his daughter's friends, it has been claimed.

The former WWE star, 54, was cheating on wife Linda with a close friend of his daughter, Brooke -- a development that could inflame the already bitter divorce battle between the wrestling superstar and his wife of 24 years.

The wrestler - whose real name is Terry Bollea - carried on a relationship with 33-year-old Christiane Plante - which was reportedly common knowledge among some of the crew of his reality series Hogan Knows Best — but Linda, Brooke and son Nick were all in the dark, sources tell the National Enquirer.

"I'm terribly sorry for what occurred," Christiane Plante said when questioned about her affair with the muscle-bound wrestler.

Speaking from her Miami Beach apartment - allegedly paid for by Hogan - Christiane apologized for hurting Hulk's wife and daughter.

"It was never my intention to hurt Terry's and Linda's wonderful, funny, sweet, loving, beautiful and talented daughter Brooke," she said.

"My relationship with Terry began at a time when Terry and Linda privately knew their marriage was ending. She had left him already, although no official papers had been filed.

"Terry is a good man, good father and good friend, and he and I grew close at a time when he was going through a very difficult period. It seemed right then, but I know it was wrong.

When contacted for comment on his extramarital relationship, Hulk said: "I've got nothing to say. I just want to protect my family."

Pregnant Jessica Alba has revealed she was once branded a 'slut' at school because of her big boobs.

The early-developing Hollywood star says she was hit with the label by a head teacher and some 'self righteous' PTA mums.

"The accusation still ricochets. They think I'm a slut?" Alba recalls in the new book 'If I'd Known Then' by Ellyn Spragins. The book is a collection of essays by female celebrities.

"Boys are awful. They are made of nothing but hormones until they're about 20 or 21," Alba writes.

"It's fun to have a crush, but don't think it's forever. And use birth control and condoms, please."

Alba, 26, is currently pregnant with fianc?e Cash Warren's baby.

Tony Romo compares Jessica Simpson to his ex-girlfriend

Tony Romo thinks ex Carrie Underwood is a better singer than his current girlfriend Jessica Simpson - and has even told her to her face.

"[Tony] really hurt Jess' feelings," says a source close to the couple. "She tried to laugh it off in Hawaii [where Tony played in the Pro Bowl], but she pouted whenever she heard Carrie's songs playing."

And Tony, 27, hasn't been overly supportive regarding Jessica's new country album either.

"Tony said he thought Jess would have trouble winning over audiences with her upcoming country CD," the pal adds to OK! magazine.

Unfortunately for the former 'Newly Weds' star, Tony is not the only one who feels that way. Rascal Flatts' frontman Gary LeVox, who has collaborated with Grammy winner Carrie, has his reservations about Jess' foray into country music.

Prince Harry heading back home

Prince Harry is heading back home -- and is already on a plane out of Afghanistan, a source has said.

"He has left the base and is en route to another location," the source said.

The 23-year-old, a second lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry, and third in line to the throne, has spent the last 10 weeks in the lawless Helmand province of the war-torn country.

"We will not comment on the whereabouts of Prince Harry," a Ministry of Defense spokesperson said.

Defense Secretary Des Browne said in a statement, "I am delighted that Prince Harry has had the opportunity to serve on operations in Afghanistan with his Battlegroup.

"In common with all the other British soldiers in Afghanistan he has done so with courage and distinction. We can be proud of him and all his fellow soldiers - we owe them all a great deal.

"The British media have shown great restraint in not reporting his deployment and I would like to thank them for doing so.

"It is however a great pity that the news has now been broken by media overseas."

There was a worldwide embargo on Harry's deployment -- but the news was widely reported after an item on the Drudge Report.

British supermodel Kate Moss is desperately trying to give up smoking for the sake of her daughter - but is still smoking 30 cigarettes-a-day, despite covering herself in nicotine patches.

Moss, 34, has reportedly stocked up on dozens of boxes of Nicorette patches - but is still struggling to quit the health destroying habit.

A source said: "At photoshoots, Kate is always getting the nicotine patches out as she usually has to rearrange them depending on what she's wearing for the shots.

"But if anyone else asks for one, she sells them for £1.50. People are very surprised when she tries to charge them for one as it's the last thing you'd expect from a megabucks model.

"But she laughs with it and says it's her little business on the side. The look on people's faces when she says she has to make some spare cash somehow is hilarious!

"She is trying desperately to ditch the fags as they are not good for her daughter Lila Grace, and they are not doing her skin any favours either.

"At 34, Kate knows she doesn't have long at the top left, so has to try and look after herself better. She has been smoking like a chimney for years, and is finding it extremely difficult.

"She's still on 30 a day, and can easily go through 40 if she has a night out."

Prince Harry on the frontline in Afghanistan

Prince Harry has been fighting the Taliban on the frontline in Afghanistan, British army officials have confirmed.

The 23-year-old, a second lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry, and third in line to the throne, has spent the last 10 weeks in the lawless Helmand province of the war-torn country.

The prince's spokesman said in a statement: "Prince Harry is very proud to serve his country on operations alongside his fellow soldiers and to do the job he has been trained for."

He arrived in late December -- and has been directly involved in gun battle.

On the eve of his departure, he told a pooled interview that it was his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who told him that he had his marching order.

The Palace and the Ministry of Defense in the U.K. had hoped to keep the mission secret in order to safeguard his life and those of his fellow soldiers -- army chiefs had managed to keep the prince shielded from media and had encouraged fellow soldiers in his squadron to keep mum.

But some foreign outlets started reporting the story on Feb. 28 – including media in Australia and Germany – and the officials moved to confirm the news.

Chief of the General Staff Sir Richard Dannatt, who is head of the British Army, said he was disappointed the news had leaked.

In a statement, he said: "I am very disappointed that foreign websites have decided to run this story without consulting us."

The story was originally broken by Matt Drudge, a man who has been called America's most famous reporter and a ground breaking Internet journalist.

His Drudge Report website has built its reputation on breaking a string of stories - most famously the Monica Lewinsky scandal in 1998.

And now the site, which gets more than 3million views a month, is regarded as a bulletin board for TV, radio and newspaper newsrooms across the U.S.

The Report's format is a very simple one, linking news stories from other outlets, with UK newspapers heavily represented on his site.

Drudge, 41, has turned his brand of Internet news, gossip and scandal into a highly profitable website, reportedly earning him more than $1m-a-year in advertising revenues.

Drudge first began operating the website out of an apartment in Hollywood, California, but has since graduated to grander things.

He now runs his operation from two luxurious properties that he owns in Miami, Florida, one a $1.4m mansion on Rivo Alto Island and a $1m apartment in the city's Four Seasons Hotel.

Drudge began his Drudge Report in the mid 1990s, starting it out as a largely showbiz e-mail newsletter he sent around his friends.

As subscribers grew from just 1,000 in 1995 to more than 85,000 in 1997, Drudge began moving away from entertainment to political gossip, setting up the Drudge Report website in 1996.

Drudge's growing reputation was built on beating the more established news networks and outlets in breaking stories.

No story was more famous than in 1998 when Drudge broke details on President Bill Clinton's sex scandal involving White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

Drudge reported on January 17 2008 that Newsweek magazine and their investigative reporter Michael Isikoff were sitting on a story about Clinton's affair. Four days later the Washington Post broke the story in the mainstream media.

Drudge's scoop made him an overnight celebrity and he became a regular talking head as a political gossip.

Drudge's sexuality has also brought him into the headlines in his own right, with a string of claims he is gay, claims Drudge denies.

Drudge himself discussed suing Hollywood star Alec Baldwin, after the actor told radio shock jock Howard Stern that Drudge had once propositioned him.

Drudge is seen as a key figure in the blogging world of the 2008 U.S Presidential election, with all candidates reportedly eager to get material and stories out using his site.

In December 2007 Drudge broke the story that Republican candidate John McCain had 'pleaded' with the New York Times to spike a story about his alleged relationship with a Washington D.C lobbyist.

Earlier this month, McCain was forced to come out and deny the story after the New York Times eventually published it.

And in recent days Drudge has been making waves in the Democratic race for the presidential nominee.

Senator Barak Obama blamed staffers for Senator Hillary Clinton of leaking photos to Drudge of Obama in Somali tribal gear.

Clinton later denied her camp was responsible for the leak and her campaign accused journalists of letting Drudge become their 'assignment editor.'

Mischa Barton skipped her first court hearing

Shamed Mischa Barton skipped the first court hearing in her DUI case today as her attorney admitted she still doesn't have a valid driver's license.

The London-born actress does not have to attend court in person because she only faces four misdemeanor charges over her DUI arrest back in December.

She decided not to show up at Beverly Hills courthouse for a brief one-minute hearing which saw her case continued until April 10.

Instead she left her attorney Anthony V. Salerno to face the press outside the courthouse as he told of her huge relief she is not in more serious trouble.

Mr Salerno was granted a standard six-week adjournment by judge H. Chester Horn to finalize whether there will be a plea or a negotiated plea.

Mischa faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while having a 0.08% or higher blood alcohol level, driving without a valid license and possession of 28.5 grams or less of marijuana.

Mr Salerno told reporters after the hearing he had spoken to the relieved former 'The O.C.' starlet on Wednesday, when she was in LA. But he admitted she still has not passed her California driving test more than two months after her arrest.

He said: "Now it has come out the way it has, I think she is pretty relieved.

"She was very serious about it and realizes it is a very serious situation, but she is relieved it is not going to be as serious as it looked like it could be.

"Originally she was booked for a felony possession of having narcotics, which the DA's office decided it did not have the evidence to support.

"That would have changed the whole dynamic and she would have had to come to court.

"Just knowing it is going to be resolved has eased a lot of anxiety for her.

"Mischa is in the process of rectifying the driving license situation.

"I expect her to have a full license within a few months."

Mr Salerno expects Mischa will receive the standard mandatory minimum sentence for a first-time DUI offense. He believes she will put on summary probation, fined about $1,600 and be ordered to attend a three-month DUI programme.

The attorney is confident she will not have to wear a SCRAN bracelet. He expects the driving without a license charge to be treated as an infraction and for the marijuana charge to be dismissed.

Mr Salerno added: "She did not have a license because she lived in New York, where you don't really need one, and was driven around for work.

"She didn't drive that much, but it was still a dumb thing to do."

Mischa was arrested at about 2.45am on December 27 in West Hollywood after cops saw her car straddling two lanes of traffic and failing to signal for a turn. She has publicly apologized for her actions and promised: there will be no repeat.

She said: "I'm really disappointed in myself.

"I'm not perfect and I don't intend to do anything this stupid again."

Amy Winehouse sparks frantic TV bidding war

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse is at the center of a TV bidding war between three US and UK chatshows.

The 24-year-old 'Rehab' star - who bagged an impressive five Grammys at the prestigious US awards ceremony earlier this month, is being pursued by prime-time TV greats Larry King and Oprah Winfrey in the states, and TV legend Sir Trevor McDonald in the UK.

Each network is said to be pulling out all the stops to ensure they get Amy on their show for an exclusive, no-holds-barred interview with her.

CNN star Larry, 74, has personally been in touch with Amy's Stateside and UK management. He even sent a begging memo to her offices which read: "I would love to have Amy on - as soon as she is well and ready."

A source said: "Larry King is leading the race to secure an interview with Amy on his show. He's confident he can see off Oprah in the race to get her signature."

But UK legend Sir Trevor, 68, has come out fighting. The ITV news anchorman - most notable for having been the first black news anchor in the UK - is planning a one-off Tonight special with Amy and has already made discreet inquires as to whether she would consider doing it.

The source adds to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Trevor knows the US market may have a slight edge money-wise, but he feels strongly that he can get her. There are so many unanswered questions from Amy about her drug use and time in rehab - not to mention her Grammy comeback. It will be compulsive viewing."

Heath Ledger’s doctors under investigation by the DEA

Two doctors who allegedly prescribed powerful painkiller drugs to actor Heath Ledger are being investigated by federal drug authorities in the US.

A doctor in California and another in Texas are now under investigation following Ledger's death from an accident drug overdose in January.

The Australian actor, 28, was found dead in his downtown New York apartment on January 22 by a maid and a masseuse.

An autopsy earlier this month blamed an accidental mixture of prescription drugs, said New York City's Chief Medical Examiner.

A federal source told People magazine: "We are investigating doctors in Los Angeles and Texas with regard to Ledger's prescriptions."

However, the source did not say whether any wrongdoing is involved, adding: "We don't know yet. The agents were there this week, and we are waiting to hear from them."

The doctors in question are thought to have supplied Ledger with Oxycontin and Vicodin, law enforcement sources told the New York Daily News.

At issue is whether or not the powerful painkiller were prescribed legally.

The subpoenaing of Ledger's autopsy results by the Drug Enforcement Administration was reported shortly after the findings of the report were announced.

On Febuary 6, it was said that the DEA would look into the source of the actor's prescriptions.

Besides Oxycodone and Vicodin, also known as Hydrocodone, autopsy results also showed that Ledger's system contained Diazepam, commonly called Valiu), as well as Temazepam, which treats anxiety or sleeplessness; Alprazolam (also known as Xanax); and Doxylamine, a sedating antihistamine often used as a sleeping aid.

On February 9, Ledger's former girlfriend, Michelle Williams - who is mother of his two-year-old daughter, Matilda - joined Cate Blanchett, Ledger's family and hundreds of mourners at a memorial in Australia for the actor.

Eminem writing an autobiography

Hip-hop star Eminem is penning an autobiography.

The rap mogul, who has already starred in a movie about his rags to riches life, will reportedly open up about his family, fame and music.

The memoir will be called 'The Way I Am', and will include never-before seen drawings and illustrations, publisher Dutton Books say.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, rose to fame in 1999 and has sold tens of millions of records.

But this will not be the first book for the star.

In 2002 he released 'Angry Blonde' in which he talked about the lyrics on his records.

Hugh Hefner wants Lindsay Lohan to appear in Playboy — as Marilyn Monroe

Lindsay Lohan will get another chance to strip off and pose nude as Marilyn Monroe - if Hugh Hefner gets his way.

Hefner wants the starlet to appear in Playboy recreating Monroe's famous naked swim from her 'Something's Got to Give' movie, according to U.S reports.

Lohan recently stripped off in a New York magazine shoot to pay homage to Monroe. The racy shoot proved so popular that the magazine's website crashed under the massive volume of hits.

Lohan, 21, paired with Monroe photographer Bert Stern to recreate the famous 1962 photo shoot of the blonde bombshell at the Bel Air hotel.

"Now we hear Lindsay is tempted to continue her nude homage to MM," Liz Smith writes in the New York Post.

Amy Winehouse is back on drugs

Troubled Amy Winehouse is back on drugs - leaving those close to her fearing she is on the brink of an emotional breakdown.

The 'Rehab' star, 24 - who spent the majority of last month in rehab, has returned to her old habits, after telling shocked friends: "I can't go on."

The singer - whose husband Blake Fielder-Civil is currently locked up in a London prison - is, according to friends, taking cocaine, ecstasy, cannabis and booze to dull her emotional pain.

The friends claim that Amy - who bagged an impressive five Grammys at the prestigious awards ceremony earlier this month, ordered a reluctant pal to smuggle drugs into the private London rehab clinic she had checked into on her first night there - and she only managed to stay clean for less than ten days.

The friends also fear that Amy - who is frightened that without drugs she is just a zombie - could seriously harm herself after she deliberately burnt her hand with a lighter last week, while screeching: "My life is a shell of what it was.

"People talk to me and I just zone out. It’s like the whole world is now stillborn. colors aren’t as bright, love doesn’t feel real. I don’t know who I am and I just feel numb."

The pal added to British newspaper The Sun: "We were sat around the table when she held a lighter over her hand and let the flame scar her skin.

"Amy has been up and down in a way she never was before. One minute she’ll be fine, the next she’ll be in a heap on the floor, screaming she can’t go on. She feels that rehab is turning her into some sort of zombie with no emotion."

Another friend added: "On the first night in rehab she begged a friend to take her in some drugs.

"After that she did not take anything for a week to ten days. But that was just about trying to get her to the Grammys. Now we’re back to the dangerous levels of before."

Movie beauty Angelina Jolie is set to scupper Jennifer Lopez's twin glory - after her beau Brad Pitt revealed she is expecting twins.

The 44-year-old 'Fight Club' star revealed the pregnancy secret to a friend, who reportedly claims:

"They're having twins, Angelina is healthy, and he's thrilled that he's going to be a father once again.

And Brad is even scaling back his work schedule to deal with the double bundle of joy.

Ditzy supermodel Heidi Klum needed to borrow extra clothes to avoid flashing the flesh on the Ellen DeGeneres show.

Hollywood star Selma Blair split with her boyfriend after he found her getting cozy with another man, according to U.S reports.

Model Matt Felker walked into the couple's Hollywood home to find the Cruel Intentions star allegedly sitting in another man's lap, it has been claimed.

"He forgot his wallet and came back unexpectedly to the place they shared in Hollywood, an insider told the New York Daily News. "He found her sitting on the guy's lap. It was like a Lifetime movie moment."

The pal of Blair's says Felker got the wrong impression and that Blair is eager to reconcile, but he wants none of it.

Britney Spears’ associates being investigated by the LAPD

Britney Spears' associates are being investigated by L.A. cops.

Police are looking into allegations that the star was drugged by people in her inner circle, according to U.S. reports.

The Los Angeles Police Department released a statement last night saying they they are investigating possible wrongdoing by people close to the troubled star.

A police spokesman said: "The issues regarding Britney Spears are being considered by the department to determine if laws have been violated.

"Particular suspects have not yet been fully identified nor has a formal investigation into open charges officially commenced.

"At this time we don't know whether or not a formal investigation will be initiated."

The investigation is reportedly linked to comments made by Britney's mother Lynne Spears in court documents for a temporary restraining order against the singer's former manager, Sam Lutfi.

In her affidavit accompanying the request for the order Lynne alleged point-blank: "Mr. Lutfi drugged Britney."

She went on to claim that Lutfi even boasted to her directly that he ground up pills, among them anti-psychotics Risperdal and Seroquel, and put them in Britney's food.

Ozzy Osbourne gets his favorite breakfast cereal shipped to LA

Rocker Ozzy Osbourne is such a fan of honey flavored breakfast cereal Sugar Puffs - he's having a whole consignment shipped to his mansion in LA.

The 59-year-old former Black Sabbath star - who famously dined on a bat while on stage in Des Moines in 1982 - now has cravings for the glazed wheat breakfast cereal.

Ozzy was so desperate to get his hands on the cereal - he put in a desperate request to British manufacturers Honey Monster Foods - who are now sending a batch to his Los Angeles home.

A source said: "One of the team at Honey Monster Foods received an e-mail with a request from Ozzy Osbourne’s people in LA asking for them to ship over some boxes of Sugar Puffs.

"They said it was his favorite breakfast cereal and he was wound up because he couldn’t find any over there."

Sugar Puffs - famous for their 'Honey Monster' campaigns, were launched in 1957.

A company spokesman said: "The wild man of rock is used to other cravings but has, in his old age moved on to softer, safer stuff."

Britney Spears denies pregnancy reports

Troubled pop princess Britney Spears last night denied reports she is pregnant with Birmingham-born paparazzo Adnan Ghalib's baby.

A US magazine claimed yesterday that 35-year-old Ghalib, the singer's on-off boyfriend, had been bragging to pals that she is expecting his child, and quoting a source as saying: "Adnan's boasting that he's going to be a dad.

"Britney is his dream come true.

"He knows that if she has a child with her, he'd be made for life."

"[Britney] has been telling people how much she loves Adnan and crowing about having a baby with him."

But a source close to the 26-year-old mother of two has blasted the reports, saying: "Britney has put on weight because the doctors have switched her prescription."

Rumors of a possible pregnancy started back in January when the couple were pictured in a chemist buying a home pregnancy testing kit.

Britney's 16-year-old actress sister Jamie Lynn is currently expecting her first child.

Jessica Simpson heading to Kuwait

Jessica Simpson is heading to Kuwait to entertain Americans in uniform, the actress says on a fan site.

"Hey ya'll. I just wanted to say hi, and let you know that I am hard at work on my country record, and I can't wait to share it will all of you," she said. "I am heading to Kuwait to do a show for the troops, then back in the studio.

"I love you all and am so blessed by the support and love you show me everyday!! xoxo jess"

The Kuwait concert will take place on March 10, a source close to the former 'Newly Weds' star has revealed.

It won't be Simpson's first troop visit - she and then-husband Nick Lachey visited Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where they spent several days as part of a USO-hosted tour in 2005.

And  last year -- proving she's a true philanthropist -- the singer-turned actress gave generously to an orphanage in Mexico.
"I'm so honored and happy to be able to help," she said at the time.

Simpson, 26, is currently dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

Nicole Kidman’s rep blasts wine drinking rumors

Nicole Kidman's rep has hit out at recent reports the pregnant actress was downing white wine at this Sunday's Academy Awards.

New York Post columnist Cindy Adams wrote yesterday: "Boozing backstage during the Oscarcast is a no-no. But if you're pregnant Nicole Kidman it's a yes- yes. She wanted white wine. She got it."

But Kidman's rep has hit back, insisting the reports aren't true, saying: "Not true. She drank lemon zinger and water and was nursing a very bad cold."

The rep, Catherine Olim of PMK, also sent this statement to Perez Hilton, blasting Cinday Adams. "I have to tell you that Nicole Kidman most certainly did NOT drink white wine or any other alcoholic beverage backstage.

"She had water and lemon zinger tea. That’s it.

"I know, I was there with her I cannot remember that last time that Cindy Adams got anything right. She’s an idiot, and you can quote me."

Kidman, 40, announced that she was expecting her first child with her country music star husband Keith Urban, 40, last month.

Lynne Spears praises Britney’s dad

Britney Spears' mom, Lynne has praised ex-husband Jamie for 'stepping up to the plate' with their troubled daughter -- after he took control of the pop wreck's affairs.

"Jamie had to change his whole routine. Lynne sings his praises. He has been such a rock. He has stepped up to the plate," a family friend says.

"He's gathered a team of reputable people who are around [Britney] now.

"She's not well, but for the first time in a long time she has people around her who really care about her."

And as well as caring for 26-year-old Britney, Lynne also wants to spend time with her 16-year-old, pregnant daughter Jamie Lynn -- and is splitting her time between Louisiana and California. She is currently back in Los Angeles.

"She has to spend time between L.A. and Kentwood. As a mother she feels needed in both places," the source tells American magazine People. "She's doing whatever she can to help both girls.

"She's got that maternal instinct, and it's in high gear."

And Britney's recent visits with her two young sons, Preston, 2, and one-year-old Jayden James, have been a huge positive for the Spears family.

Adds the source: "Lynne talked to Jamie, and he said it was a good visit.

"[Britney] slipped into that motherly mode.

"They picked up right where they left off. She still has a long way to go [to get better], but that's what we hope and pray for Lynne and Jamie want their child to be whole again."

Orlando Bloom’s girlfriend thinks he’s “too smelly”

Hollywood heartthrob Orlando Bloom has been told to step his personal hygiene -- because his on-again, off-again girlfriend Miranda Kerr thinks he's "too smelly".

"Miranda thinks Orlando is too smelly," says a source close to the couple. "Recently, she asked him if he could wash his clothes and perhaps shower more often."

When the 31-year-old isn't filming his latest Hollywood blockbuster, he "goes days without washing his clothes," the source tells Star magazine. "He'll wear the same jeans for a week before he throws them in the washer. Same goes for his sweaters, T-shirts and socks."

And the 'Pirates of The Caribbean' star makes matter worse -- by allowing his pet pooch Sidi sleep in his bed and slobber all over him.

Since Victoria's Secret model Miranda, 24, told him to clean up his act, Orlando has been trying. But, says the source, he's told friends "he doesn't know if this relationship will last."

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills divorce details to be published

Details of the bitter divorce battle between Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney and his estranged wife Heather Mills are set to be published, it has been revealed.

The details will be published by London's High Court to end speculation over the size of the financial settlement Heather, 40, will receive - which could be the biggest in British legal history.

Mr Justice Bennett, who presided over a five day hearing at the High Court to decide how much money Heather is entitled to, was due to deliver his assessment behind closed doors in courts on March 17.

But he has taken the unusual step of signaling to Sir Paul and Heather that he may release all or part of his conclusions because of the intense public interest in the divorce battle.

A spokesman for the Judicial Communications Office told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper: "The Judge will hand down his judgment in private on March 17. He will then decide, having heard submissions from the parties, whether or not to make the judgment public in whole or in part. The submissions from both parties will be heard in private.

"It is not unknown in high profile cases, or where the judges think the case has legal significance, for some or all of the settlement to be made public."

The size of Heather's settlement is likely to remain confidential -- unless either side had chosen to go to the Court of Appeal, whose hearings are held in public.

Neither Paul or Heather wanted to comment about the latest twist in their high-profile divorce battle.
