Jamie Lynn Spears’ family has the support of Lindsay Lohan’s dad

The Spears family have been heavily criticized since the shock news of 16-year-old Jamie Lynn's pregnancy, but luckily they have Lindsay Lohan's dad, Michael on their side.

The father of the troubled 'Mean Girls' actress jumped to defend the Spears family, by saying: "People just don't realize what it's like to live under the whirlwind that families like mine and the Spears' and other families out there are caught up in," he told Extra. "It takes a lot to hold it together."

When it comes to dispensing advice to the Spears family, including mother Lynne Spears, Michael, 47, says, "Stand together. Stand by each other and don't let anyone come between you."

Lohan also attempts to address rumors that link his daughter to 31-year-old Entourage star Adrian Grenier.

"He's a friend," he said. "She went over there for dinner one night over the holidays for an hour or so. They drank water and she went home."

As for how his daughter is faring after what has been a turbulent year, Lohan says, "She's doing amazingly well."
