Jennifer Hudson dreams of winning a Grammy

Jennifer HudsonFormer American Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson has revealed she wants to win a Grammy in 2008.

The 26-year-old actress - who won the best supporting actress Oscar for her performance in 'Dreamgirls' in 2007 - is desperate to add the prestigious accolade to her trophy cabinet this year.

She said: "I used to watch the Grammys and dream of winning one. I think that will be next on my list."

Hudson also revealed that she is thrilled to be returning to her musical roots with new album 'TBD', out later this year.

She added to America's People magazine: "I get to sing this year. I love acting and I hope I don't ever have to choose between acting and singing, but singing is what I worked 17 years to do. That's what I dreamed of. And I get to do it this year."

The star, who first shot to fame as one of the finalists on the third season of FOX television series American Idol - and was nominated for a Grammy last year for the 'Dreamgirls' soundtrack - will be seen in the summer release of 'Sex and the City: The Movie'.

Jennifer admits she can't believe how much her life has changed since appearing on 'American Idol'.

She said: "I still don't exactly believe everything that has happened to me. Every day, it's like, 'Thank you God.' "
