Millionaire pooch “Trouble” adjusting well to life under armed guard

Millionaire pooch Trouble is adjusting well to life under armed guard, according to U.S reports.

The pampered white Maltese was famously left a staggering $12m in the will of Queen of Mean owner Leona Helmsley.

Security concerns resulted in the wealthy dog being moved from Helmsley's 28-acre Connecticut estate to a modest home in Sarasota, Florida.

And threats made against Trouble were taken so seriously she now even has round-the-clock protection, which costs $210,000-a-year.

"I think she has welcomed the change," Trouble's handler John Codey told the CBS Early Show.

Trouble, who has been given the alias of Bubble, is no longer having meals cooked for her by a personal chef, and has grown used to eating dog food out of a tin, Codey said.

Leona Helmsley left a $4b fortune when she died in August at the age of 87.
