Tonight is the return of an institution, according to news legend Sir Trevor McDonald, as he fronts a revived attempt of iconic nightly news round-up News at Ten, where he begins his second spell of being a well respected newsreader, alongside ex-Sky News presenter Julie Etchingham. With a brand new CGI effect title sequence, featuring those famous 'Bongs', will the ratings banker that was return with a winning start against the BBC.
Welshman Huw Edwards and Crimewatch presenter Fiona Bruce head a normal bulletin tonight at the same time for BBC1; the daily news round-up has been criticised recently for its blandness. However some critics are sure that BBC1 will come up trumps this week, despite fears of a first day wash out surrounding the hype of ITV's revival.
