Marc Bannerman has revealed he is in love with fellow jungle star Cerys Matthews - and doesn't care what anyone else thinks about their whirlwind romance. The ex-EastEnders star said he couldn't help falling in love with the Welsh singer on reality show I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here - even though he had a long-term girlfriend back home. "I couldn't care less what anyone thinks about anything, I fell in love with somebody and that's that," he said.
Marc, who had been dating actress Sarah Matravers for two and a half years, was accused of being a love rat last November when he admitted he had feelings for Cerys during their stint on the reality jungle show.
"I know I hurt someone back in England but what can you do? Life goes on and I hope she's all right, but I'm in love and thats that," he added.
Speaking in their first TV interview together, ex-Catatonia star Cerys then admitted there was an instant spark between them in the jungle.
"My cousin showed me footage of when we first met and he asked me if I liked fishing and I had goggle eyes so I must've liked him straightaway," she said.
The loved-up couple set tongues wagging in the jungle yet they both quashed rumours that anything physical happened between them.
"At nighttime I was convinced everyone was asleep, it was dark and I kind of felt like we were on our own," said Marc, 34.
"But we didn't do anything, to be fair," added Cerys, 38.
"Apart from sing to each other, swing on the hammock and dance."
The pair revealed they have only been together for 17 days since leaving the jungle but didn't deny they had a strong future together.
When asked by Al Murray on his chat show Al Murray's Happy Hour if they would ever tie the knot and have children, Cerys said: "Ask us after about 22 days of knowing each other, give it another week."
